It feels like weeks away, but then all of a sudden Halloween will creep up on us! So we thought we’d pretend to be organized here at Mama Chic and show you some of the treats we made last year.
These hotdog sausages are cut in half, a sliced almond is put near the end for the finger nail look and then they are placed in a bowl of BBQ or Tomato Sauce.
Deviled eggs making a pretty gross comeback!
1.After hard-boiling the eggs, let them cool, peel, cut in half length-ways.
2. Mix the egg yellow with a little bit of mayo and some green food coloring (or avocado). Spoon it back into the egg half.
3. Put a slice of black olive onto the green mixture and a little squirt of tomato ketchup into the olive.
4. Finally use a cocktail stick to spread out some ketchup to give the egg eyes their blood-shot look.
The decoration ability for these spider web cakes are almost beyond me, but thanks to the gel decorating pens even I could make them. Simple cupcakes or muffins, sugar glaze on top once cooled, then let your imagination run wild.
These were a huge hit and my personal favorite. These Marshmallow Zombies are made by first baking a tray of brownies, cutting out slices, putting a tooth-pick into it then stacking up your marshmallows and mini-pretzels. The gel pens were again a great hit to decorate and the mix of salty and sweet made these so tasty.
Another sausage idea if your guests are sausage fiends! These hotdog sausages are halved, wrapped in thin strips of ready-made pastry which should be wrapped to leave space for a „face“ before baking them for around 12 minutes at 180 degrees C. Once baked and cooled you can use mustard to make little „eyes“.
