Hallo meine lieben Leserinnen und Leser,
ich melde mich hiermit wieder zurück – sozusagen aus dem Mutterschutz 😉 Unser kleiner Sonnenschein kam Anfang September auf die Welt Weiterlesen
Are Our Kids Active Enough? I have admit that I had no idea what the “official guidelines” were for the level of activity in children. I always just imagined the more the merrier and quite frankly that is how I feel it should be, but nowadays we really need to be talking and thinking about the minimum level of activity since studies are showing worrying trends in childhood obesity. Just one peek at the World Health Organisation (WHO) website is enough to send you running for the treadmill, children in hand.

I know, there are apparently two types of people when it comes to Christmas and all that. I actually think that is a lie. I am the kind who knows that it is inevitable but somehow still seems to be behind every single year. So this year my aim is to prepare for Christmas without even really putting any effort into preparing. Will it work? Who knows! So what am I going to do?
A few months ago I entered a competition where you had to write down your favorite „Me Time“ rituals to win some bath products. I just sat staring at the computer trying to think of something more inspiring than maybe my morning shower which, if I’m being honest, is not always alone. Sometimes a one-year-old accompanies me into the bathroom and spends her time loading things into the washing machine, or the six-year-old comes and hangs out while I shower and brushes her teeth. Or my husband waits impatiently for me to finish by already holding out a towel for me while the shampoo is still being washed out. Me time. What a crazy illusion this is for most people with small children. But we are constantly told that it is something all mums should aspire to. Even this stresses me out sometimes! Pressure to relax, how absurd.
It feels like weeks away, but then all of a sudden Halloween will creep up on us! So we thought we’d pretend to be organized here at Mama Chic and show you some of the treats we made last year.
Time is something I don’t have enough of but still I have to come up with some ways of trying to incorporate things I would like to do into my daily schedule and five minutes is pretty much all they are going to get right now! Of course I want to share these ideas with all other busy parents out there.
I went to Brit Mums Live in June as part of my first trip away alone without the family. The buzz was amazing and it was very special to sit in a room full of such talented women, carving away their own little niche in the online world. As I was getting ready to go to Brit Mums Live I looked at the list of sponsors and one stood out for me, Heavenly® organic superfoods – probably because I like food. But also because they claim to be tasty, organic, superfoods, loved by babies, toddlers and older kids as well as promoting healthy eating! If anyone could test these claims, then Mama Chic and our Clan can.
